Foundation Fieldbus Development Tools

FOUNDATION FIELDBUS DEVELOPMENT TOOLS

Instrument and host developers have a choice of powerful fieldbus Conformance, Device Description (DD), and Interoperability development and test tools to choose from. The test kits include all hardware and software required to ensure a manufacturer’s device conforms to the current FOUNDATION Fieldbus specifications and registration guidelines. All FOUNDATION Fieldbus development requires the use of the FOUNDATION Fieldbus Technical Specifications. The tool sets required for your particular product depend on whether you are developing a Communication Stack, a Host or a Field Device and at what speed. The tool sections are listed in order for a standard device development cycle.

The H1 Interoperability Test Kits (ITK) verify the functionality of a device with the FOUNDATION Fieldbus's Function Block Specifications. These test kits include all hardware and software required to ensure a manufacturer's complete device interoperability; they are identical to the official registration testing completed by the FieldComm Group. The kits are excellent tools for troubleshooting and debugging H1 field devices. Source code for the test cases is included.

    Host Test Kit

The Host Test Kit tests the functionality of a host and its conformity with the FOUNDATION Fieldbus, FDI and HART Host Interoperability Support Test Specification and includes all the hardware and software required to ensure a manufacturer’s host meets requirements specified by FieldComm Group’s official registration testing procedures.
