TG300 TRUNKGUARD Series Fieldbus Device Couplers deliver a fast and easy
way to connect multiple fieldbus devices to a main fieldbus trunk in a
FOUNDATION fieldbusTM (H1) network.
General Purpose and Hazardous Area Installations
TRUNKGUARD Series 300 Device Couplers simplify the use of high power or
Exd fieldbus devices in Zone 2 and Zone 1 by allowing "live" access for
maintenance and eliminating the need for expensive Exd/Flameproof
junction boxes. The TG300 can be matched with our TPS400 Fieldbus Power
Supplies.
Industry-First Advantages
Available in 4-, and 8-spur models, TRUNKGUARD is the first fieldbus
Device Coupler to provide fully automatic segment termination. The
patented technology prevents fieldbus segment failure from under- or
over-termination, a major problem in fieldbus startups. The TRUNKGUARD's
patented "Automatic Segment Termination" assures that local parts of a
fieldbus segment will continue to function if remote parts of that
segment are accidentally disconnected. This prevents costly downtime and
hazardous situations. Other unique features include diagnostic LEDs that
positively indicate power status on each fieldbus spur, spur short
circuits, status of auto-termination, as well as convenient connections
for a fieldbus hand-held configurator.
Short Circuit Protection
On detection of excess current on a fieldbus spur, the TG300 reacts
immediately to switch spur current to a nominal trickle-level, rather
than limiting the fault current to a fixed (and always higher) level as
is typically done by competing units. With removal of the short, the spur
is automatically reconnected to the fieldbus segment.
Easy Hazardous Area Installation
ATEX approvals allow installation in Zone 1 and Zone 2 areas.
DIN-Rail and Complete Field-Mount Packages
TRUNKGUARD Fieldbus Device Couplers snap onto standard DIN-rail. To
reduce specification and installation time, they can also be ordered in a
variety of our ready-to-install field-mount, weather-proof enclosures
complete with cable glands. Options include aluminum, GRP (Glass
Reinforced Polyester) and stainless steel enclosures with glands for
armored and unarmored cable.
