Lee College is the premiere educational center for emerging technologies in the field of control systems. The center:
- Designs systems for teaching fieldbus and process control systems
- Creates and maintains an applied research center
- Develops multi-craft curriculum for fieldbus and industrial networking technologies
- All courses can be customized to meet the needs of a group or company and are available off-site or in house.
The Facility
The facilities of Lee College include a multi-million dollar pilot plant and several state-of-the-art MicroPlants that allow students to build fieldbus segments, configure devices and develop control strategies.
The Philosophy
Our philosophy is based on the tenet that people learn best by seeing and doing. To achieve this end, the curriculum is weighted heavily in hands-on training and set in a realistic industrial environment.
The Instructors
All Lee College courses are taught by senior instrumentation professionals with an advanced specialization in fieldbus technologies.
FOUNDATION Certified Professional
This INTENSE, hands-on, 10 day course is designed for engineers, engineer technologists, system integrators and other personnel who need to be fully certified in every aspect of FOUNDATION Fieldbus. The course covers all aspects of fieldbus operations from design and maintenance to installation and configuration.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Engineers, engineering technologists, system integrators technologists, Main Instrumentation Controls Contractors/Main Automation Contractors (MAC), Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) professionals, Contract Administrators/Estimators, Certified Fieldbus Instructors Programmers, Startup and Commissioning Specialists, Designers and System Analysts.

The only prerequisite is current instrument field experience.
FOUNDATION Certified Technical Specialist
This hands-on 5 day training course is designed for people wanting to gain the competence to install, maintain, repair/replace and troubleshoot FOUNDATION Fieldbus systems.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Maintenance Technicians, Network Technicians, Vendor/Contract Service Specialists, Maintenance and Contract Maintenance Supervisors, Control Automation Instructors and In-house Trainers
COURSE TOPICS INCLUDE:
- What is Fieldbus
- Installing Fieldbus Devices
- Fieldbus Components and Wiring
- Fieldbus Lab Demonstration
- Fieldbus versus Traditional Instrumentation Systems
There is no prerequisite for this class.
FOUNDATION Certified Support Specialist
This two-day course is designed for people who are FOUNDATION Fieldbus generalists able to communicate intelligently about the technology, but do not need the depth of knowledge required for other certificates.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Salespeople, End User Management, Estimators, Operations Staff, Quality Control Specialists and Reliability Analysts
COURSE TOPICS INCLUDE:
- Design of Fieldbus Systems
- Selecting and Installing Fieldbus Devices
- Fieldbus Protocols
- Fieldbus Segments and Networks
- Digital Communications
Course 101 or 102 is recommended as a prerequisite.
